Apple is reportedly set to release a smaller version of the iPad this fall.
This seems like a stunning turn of events for Apple because Steve Jobs was on record as saying a smaller tablet was a bad idea. During an earnings call in 2010, Jobs said that people just couldn't interact with smaller tablets the way they can with the bigger iPad.
Well, guess what, Jobs may have been fibbing. Or, perhaps, he had a change of heart.
During today's trial between Apple and Samsung, internal emails were read in court that reveal Jobs was open to the idea of a smaller iPad.
Apple executive Eddy Cue emailed top people at Apple, saying, "I believe there will be a 7-inch market and we should do one,? according to All Things D's Ina Fried.
Steve Jobs seemed to agree. Here's a tweet from the court room by CNBC's Jon Fortt:
Apple internal email shows Eddie Cue advocated in 1/11 for 7" iPad, said Steve Jobs seemed receptive most recent time
