A Taste of (Your City Here) | MyDealCompass Blog | Business ...

Many cities run local fundraisers called something like A Taste of Boston or A Taste of Glendale. These events usually raise funds for some type of local charity. And while they can be very fun to attend, they can also be very expensive and restrictive. Usually a guest pays a set fee for a bracelet and then gets a list of participating businesses. Local restaurants, local cafes and local delis are some of the businesses you may find on the event list. Each business then sets out a buffet-type spread either in the restaurant or out on the sidewalk for participants to graze. The portions are small, and many vendors run out of samples within the first hour or two of the event.

You can organize your own A Taste of event in your local area whether you are a business or a deal seeker through the Deal Map at myDealCompass. Businesses can get together and decide to offer an extra incentive such as added deals where deal seekers can come together and experience local dining together. Portions are bigger, and the food will not run out because businesses can plan ahead based on the number of deals redeemed. The local deals keep the prices down, so myDealCompass members do not lose out on a lot of money paid in a set fee if they prefer to skip a business participating in the Taste of event.

Deal Seekers can check the restaurant, dessert/treats and other food-related boxes as they are added to the left side of the Deal Map. They then put in their city and town and find the myDealCompass deals in their areas. Deal seekers can then share the deals with family and friends and redeem them to create a Taste of experience together.
