Mass Murderers Benefit Media

I've been reading a lot of criticisms of the media coverage of the Connecticut killings. Mainly, they revolve around the belief that more media coverage of murderers leads more murderers, dying for a bit of fame and notoriety. But I decided to look at it from a different angle.

1. The news media wants consumers.
2. Consumers love hearing about mass murders.
3. Broadcasting mass murders leads to more consumers.
4. The more of this mass murders there are, the better.
5. If broadcasting mass murders leads to more of mass murderers, perfect.
