MADRID (AP) -Cristiano Ronaldo says he is still "feeling sad" at Real Madrid but denies it's because of money and has committed himself to the Spanish club.

Ronaldo issued a public statement Tuesday acknowledging the "huge stir" created when he said after scoring twice in a 3-0 victory on Sunday that he was unhappy because of professional reasons at Madrid.

He says Madrid knows what they are but won't elaborate any further

Instead, Ronaldo wants "to guarantee" Madrid fans of his "motivation, dedication, commitment and desire to win all competitions will not be affected" by the issue.

Ronaldo's teammates have expressed surprise at his stance.

Spanish media speculated whether this has been a contract ploy, a problem with teammates or sour grapes after losing a UEFA award to Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta.
